Sand Sculpture
Fill a wash tub or bucket 2/3 full with sand. Let your child make a hole or indentation in the sand. Then go for a treasure hunt around the house and yard. Find items you would normally discard such as bottle caps, twigs, plastic netting (found on bags of onions), bits of broken toys, beads, shells, bread bag ties, etc. Press these things into the indentation or hole. Try to make a face or a building or whatever. Place the side you want to show in the finished project towards the sand. Fill the hole or indentation with plaster of Paris. Let dry and remove from sand. Brush clean and sign the bottom.
