Word Charms

Materials:

Old Magazines or Newspapers
Colored Paper
Clear Contact Paper or Laminator
String or Chain

Cut out words from old magazines or newspapers. Glue them to colored paper. Make sure to leave about 1/2 inch between the words. Laminate the colored papers with the words glued on them. Cut out each word leaving enough of a border to allow for punching one hole. Punch one hole in the border around each word. Make a big bag of these and have the children pick a word. Say, spell and use the word in a sentence with them. Then thread it onto a string or chain for them to start a word necklace. Add a new word every day or once a week.
